For Arts Funders & Grant Bodies

Grant applicants can now demonstrate
authentic creative practice.

As AI-generated content becomes indistinguishable from human writing, arts funders face a new challenge: understanding whether an application represents a genuine human creative practice. Writion provides a data trail that accumulates automatically as the writer works — building over weeks and months in a way that is difficult to replicate retrospectively.

Months of activity, not a moment
The Stage Journey Report shows how a project developed over time — stage by stage, word count by word count. A genuine creative practice builds a record that is difficult to fabricate retrospectively.
Voluntarily offered, independently verifiable
Applicants can choose to include a Stage Journey Report with their submission. When you need formal independent reassurance, a Provenance Report can be requested and dispatched simultaneously to your organisation and to the applicant. The copy sent to you is dispatched directly by Writion — the applicant has no ability to intercept or alter it.
The Writion Promise — no creative content is ever shared
Both reports contain only business metadata — stage journey, word count history, and project milestones. No manuscript text, no notes, no drafts. An applicant's creative work remains entirely private.
How it works

Simple to use at any stage of assessment.

1
The applicant applies
They include a Stage Journey Report with their application as supporting evidence of authentic creative practice — a voluntary record showing the project's development, from first stage through to the point of application.
2
You need verification
At any stage of assessment, if you need independent reassurance about the project's provenance, you can request a Provenance Report. The applicant initiates the report through Writion.
3
Writion dispatches
The Provenance Report is dispatched simultaneously by Writion to the applicant and to your registered address. Both parties receive the same document at the same moment.
