Is Writion really free for Founding Members?
Starter is always free — one project, no credit card, no time limit. If you apply for Founding Membership and are approved for Premium, your first 12 months are at the Founding Member rate — $50/yr instead of $99/yr, or $5/mo instead of $9.90/mo (about half price). After 12 months, standard pricing applies. No surprises — you'll have plenty of notice before anything changes.
What is a Founding Member?
Founding Members are the first 1,000 writers approved to join Writion. They receive the Founding Member rate on Premium for their first 12 months — $50/yr instead of $99/yr, about half price — as a genuine thank you for being here from the start. Starter is always free for everyone. Applications are reviewed personally by the Writion team.
Can I change plans later?
Yes — you can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. If you upgrade mid-period, you'll be charged the difference. If you downgrade, the change takes effect at your next billing date.
What currency are prices in?
All Writion subscriptions are priced and billed in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) — for New Zealand and Australian writers alike. If you're in Australia, your bank or card converts at their rate on the day. (Separately: the accounting tools inside Writion — for your own invoices and project finances — support NZD, AUD, USD, GBP and EUR.)
Does Writion include GST?
Writion New Zealand Limited is not currently registered for GST. Prices shown are the full amount you pay — no GST is added at checkout. We will update this page if our GST status changes.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your data remains accessible for 30 days after cancellation so you can export it. After that it is permanently deleted. We recommend exporting your projects before cancelling.
Is Writion only for New Zealand writers?
Writion is built for writers in New Zealand — the industry directory, pricing and invoicing are built for the NZ market. Writers from Australia, the UK and further afield are very welcome. The core tools work for any writer, anywhere.
